Dr. Sandeep S. Kate is the founder President of Marathon Association Satara, a non profit organization,started in 2012.

He is a keen runner and organized the first edition of the PNB METLIFE SHHM with the help of his friends and family on 7th October 2012. It was the first such event in Satara,which received enthusiastic response from all over the country.

His dream is to nurture and develop PNB METLIFE SHHM into one of the premier running events in India's running calendar.The hard work and efforts put in over the last five years , by his dedicated team of volunteers drawn from friends and family have paid off and made this dream a reality in a relatively short span of time.

He has participated in several running events all over the country, including the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon and the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon.

He has also finished in international events like the Athens Authentic Marathon in Greece, the Gold coast Airport marathon in Australia and the Zurich Marathon in Switzerland.

He has successfully completed the Ultimate Human Race "COMRADES ULTRAMARATHON" in South Africa, two times back to back. (2013 and 2014)
