NOTE : The above criteria apply to both male , as well as female runners, across all age groups.

How should I train for the event? Are there any training runs scheduled ?

This being a hilly run, training on slopes / inclines is recommended as a part of your training.
You can follow the Official Training program, prepared by Coach Norrie Williamson.

You have mentioned that one should include “hill-runs” in the training. There are no hills in my area.
How should I train for the same, if I want to run and train for the PNB METLIFE SHHM ?
Please suggest an alternative if possible.

You can look out for manmade slopes like parking lots, ramps etc. You can also run on a Treadmill with an inclined ramp. Alternatively, running up and down stairs in a building
( gradually increasing the number of stairs and speed ) is also a good strategy.

Can you recommend a place to stay ?

Satara is a small city , with limited number of Hotels and other facilities for accommodation. In fact ,that is a one of the major reasons for the limit on the total number of outstation registrations we allow for the event . We are trying our best to help participants find a place to stay. Starting last year, we have initiated a novel scheme called Atithi Devo Bhava, where local families would host runners in their homes during their stay in Satara. While the challenges involved in such a novel arrangement are quite unique and still need to be addressed and improved upon, at least we have made a beginning and we got quite an enthusiastic response for the scheme from both the local Satarkars and runners alike ,last year.
If you are interested in such an arrangement or willing to consider any more options like Furnished tents, Register here
